FED up of queuing at the theme park? Bored of the same soft play? Then how about taking the children to a place unlike anywhere they’ve been before?
Opening in July, Hobbledown is a unique farm park adventure based on a mystical and magical story. The tale centres on the Hobblers, fun fictional characters which live in spectacular play structures all ages will want to explore.
Based on a 50-acre site in Epsom, Surrey [just minutes from the A3] the all-weather attraction cost more than £3million to build and replaces the popular Horton Park Farm which closed earlier this year.
It will boast its own zoo licence and be home to more than 200 animals and a multitude of indoor and outdoor adventure play equipment.
* In Hobbledown Village you will be able to explore the Hobblers’ houses and towers, check out the underground tunnels, test your skills on the Low Ropes Adventure or brave the Aerial Walkways. For our bigger visitors there is the Aerial Adventure Course that will challenge the bravest of you!
* The Hobbledown Barn houses two themed play areas with an indoor maze.
* The Hoblings Play Village has mazes and role play areas as well as an Interactive Sand Play Zone.
* And not forgetting The Mining Village, one of the main reasons the Hobblers came to Hobbledown - to search out the Crystallite stones. Like any mining area there are tunnels to explore, mazes to navigate and work to be done. Here you can help the Hobblers by turning the capstan to drive the water to help you find the magical stones. Watch out though, some cheeky Hobbler has mixed up some of the water spouts and you may end up getting wet!
Owners Nick de Candole and Richard Farley – behind the award-winning Kidspace indoor play parks in London and Essex - said their main aim was provide visitors with a fun-packed day out, unlike anywhere else in Surrey.
Nick said: “Hobbledown, or Horton Park Children’s Farm as it was previously known, was in need of some love and attention so we decided to create a mysterical [cross between mysterious and hysterical] story about the farm. Armed with that story and a lot of love we have set about creating what we think will be a very unique farm park adventure.
“Our belief as fully paid up members of the Hobbledown club is that without a story we are just a place, but by creating a wonderful story with characters, our little farm park and all the things in it will come alive both for you and the children that visit.”
No expense has been spared on bringing the project to life - including £800,000 spent on play equipment, £500,000 on an indoor play barn and £250,000 on landscaping – and there will be heaps to see and do.
As well as enjoying the innovative play equipment, visitors will also be able to check out the farm animals which range from miniature donkeys, Meerkats and reindeer to porcupines, otters and wallabies.
